Cancellation Policy

Overview
RAD Rent and Drive understands that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair to both Hosts and Renters while protecting the interests of our community. Please review the following policies carefully before making or accepting a booking.
Renter Cancellation Policy
Renters may cancel a booking according to the following schedule:
More than 24 hours before trip start
Full refund minus a $25 processing fee
Within 24 hours of trip start
50% refund of the trip cost
No-show or after trip start
No refund (full trip cost charged)
Note: Protection plan fees and service fees are non-refundable regardless of cancellation timing.
Host Cancellation Policy
We strongly discourage Host cancellations as they negatively impact Renters' travel plans. Host cancellations may result in:
- A cancellation fee of $50-$150 depending on notice given
- Negative impact on search ranking and visibility
- Review of Host status for repeated cancellations
- Potential account suspension for excessive cancellations
When a Host cancels, the Renter receives a full refund and we will assist in finding an alternative vehicle when possible.
Extenuating Circumstances
We understand that extraordinary events can occur. The following situations may qualify for a full refund or penalty waiver:
- Documented medical emergencies
- Natural disasters affecting the pickup/return location
- Government-mandated travel restrictions
- Death of an immediate family member
- Jury duty or court summons that cannot be rescheduled
Documentation may be required to verify extenuating circumstances. Please contact our support team as soon as possible.
Trip Modifications
Need to modify your trip dates? You may be able to extend or shorten your trip:
- Extensions: Subject to vehicle availability and Host approval. Additional charges apply.
- Early Returns: No refund for unused days unless agreed upon by the Host.
- Date Changes: May be possible with Host approval. Standard cancellation policy may apply if dates cannot be changed.
How to Cancel
To cancel a booking:
- Log in to your RAD account
- Go to "My Trips" or "Host Dashboard"
- Select the booking you wish to cancel
- Click "Cancel Trip" and follow the prompts
- Confirm your cancellation
You will receive an email confirmation of your cancellation and any applicable refund within 5-10 business days.
